I love the program but any drink I add isnt included in the alphabetical listing. Nor is Pisco Sour which IS listed on the search. Program crashed and kicked me out everytime I used it. Fix these issues and Id even pay more for this one.

Tried the lite version and thought it looked good, but was most disappointed with the paid version. It seems to crash a lot; pretty much every time I use it, I expect it to go down. Additionally, a lot of recipes are incomplete, with blank spots where ingredients should be, or ingredients mentioned in the instructions that arent present in the ingredient list. On the plus side, its cheap. But I certainly hope the developers are working on the stability and ingredient issues.
There are so many drink recipes to choose from and so many different ways to browse them. I also like how I can save my favorite drinks and rate them. The bar locator is awesome and the unit converter is very useful since I am a bartender. Theres also a blood alcohol calculator that acts sort of like a breathalyzer. So long as the developer lets us add drink recipes in the next update as promised this app is flawless.
20,000 drinks... its crazy how many drinks this app has. Im always looking for new bars to try out and this bar locator is so nice to have right at hand! Great Product
This is truly a great bartending and drink recipe app plus much more. Just let us add drinks like promised and this app is close to flawless....Im very happy with it!
I have tried some of the other drink applications out there and this one blows them out of the water. You can search drinks in so many ways and you can do so much more. This is one seriously good app that gives you a lot.
There are plenty of drink recipe apps out there at varying levels of quality and price. This one is on the very low end of the quality spectrum and on the high end of the price spectrum. In other words, dont waste your money. The drink recipe organization features are all crammed into one tab to make room for a whole bunch of bells and whistles that arent all that useful in a portable cocktail guide. The app is *very* slow to respond to user input (the "Search" menu option takes about 10 seconds to respond to a tap, with no indication that anything is happening). It also crashes quite frequently as you go from one feature to another. Visually, the app is an absolute eyesore. The developers seem to have no regard for the design and interface guidelines that make other iPhone apps such a joy to use. Shamefully, parts of the design seems to be ripped off blatantly and inelegantly from another drink recipes app ("Drinks"). So whats up with all these 5-star reviews? Click around a little, and youll see that they were written by people who gave the developers other app 5-star reviews too. If youd like to see less of this sketchy behavior in the App Store, please mark this review as helpful.
I am a bartender and I have been waiting for an app like this that not only provides cocktail recipes, but shots, shooters, and so many other drink types. I have purchased several other bartending apps and they do not offer as much as this app does. This application is most importantly very easy to use and it is elegantly designed. There are so many drinks and features in this app and that is what makes it stand out from the other drink/bartending apps that I have tried.
There are a lot of drinks to choose from and many ways to browse them. The bar locator uses GPS to find bars near you which is cool. Great app!
Im comparing this to the Drinks application since thats the other premiere drink app. First off, Im disappointed that you cant search by multiple ingredients, only one. Second, its slow to search. Third, it doesnt search as you type. If these feature get added, Ill raise my review. However at this point I dont think this app is worth a dollar.
Much better than other bartending apps that I have installed. I would have given it 5 stars except you cant choose multiple ingredients to search with.
this simply offers the most bang for your buck of any of the drink apps out there right now. Compare it to the competition it offers a lot more and it is better designed.
I bought this app because I bartend and found that it is extremely useful. I have tried several of the other drink apps out there and they are simply not on as high of a level in comparison to this one. For example, the pocket cocktails app has an absolutley terrible user interface and it lacks in offering drink recipes...it has very few. The drinks app is good but does not offer nearly as many drinks as this one and it doesnt provide all the bonus cool features that this one does. Party Pro gives you so many drinks, many ways to view them, rate them, send them to friends, etc. It also gives you bartending techniques, a unit converter, and a blood alcohol level estimator all in the same app! For quality and value, this is the one drink app worth your dollar more so than the rest. Compare all of the drink apps before you buy and you will find the same result....Party Pro is the best overall.
Even though I purchased this while the app was on sale, Im extremely disappointed with this app. Not only does it crash ALL THE TIME, but there are serious issues with the apps interface, along with the recipes themselves! Rather than some of the other "content-free" 5-star reviews that this app has (possibly from the developers friends), Im going to list SPECIFIC EXAMPLES of problems I found within a few minutes of purchasing this app. First, the app is REALLY sluggish. When you click on "Search" from the main menu, it takes 5-7 seconds before the app gives any response that it is "working". Then when the Search screen finally appears and you tap in the search bar to type in what you want to look for, there is another delay. Second, after you type in your search term (for example, "Purple") and click the "Search" button on the keyboard, THE KEYBOARD DOES NOT GO AWAY! (Im serious!) That is obviosuly totally non-standard iPhone behavior, and not only wastes screen real estate but makes it impossible to tap on the recipes at the bottom of the list. Third, from the main menu if you click "By Name" you are first presented with a "sub menu" to select a list of drinks based on the first letter of their name (one for each letter of the alphabet). What about the drinks that start with a number or special character, like 57 Chevy, 007, 4th of July, etc.? A much more iPhone-esque approach would be to just show ALL the drinks and then have an alphabet slider on the right side of the screen like in the Contacts app. Fourth, when you do click on "J Drinks" from the "By Name" menu, then scroll through the list, they arent even sorted! There are 3 drinks that start with "Jager" and then you scroll past a bunch of other drinks and there some more and there are a few more "Jager" drinks. Huh? Fifth, speaking of "Jager", there are *LOTS* of recipes that have missing ingredient information! Tap "Jager Monster" and the first ingredient is invisible. The same goes for "Jager Salsa", "Jagerita", "Jager Monster Ii", "Jager Vacation" has *TWO* invisible ingredients, "Jager Mint", "Jager Barrel", etc. the list goes on and on... Sixth, long ingredient names overflow in to the quantity column instead of wrapping to a new line, making it very difficult to try and decipher the quantity. (see "JimmyS Juice" for just one example, there are plenty of others as well.) Seventh, it seems to me that the drink list for this app was culled from some online database or web page and then a (poor) attempt was made to auto-capitalize the drink names. Drinks that are supposed to have the romain numeral "II" to represent "two" are capitalized like "Ii", and drinks with an apostrophe-s combination have the "s" capitalized (as in "JackS Apple" or "JohnS Manhattan"), as do drinks that have "1st" or "2nd" in the name (like "Jamaican Collins (1St)" and "Jamaican Collins (2Nd)". That would also explain the mish-mosh of ingredient styles -- some recipes say "1/2 oz." others say "0.25 oz." ("Jolly Rancher" vs "Jolly Rancher Ii") and the highly inconsistent drink naming conventions (there is also a "Jolly Rancher (2)" and "Jolly Rancher (3)", for example.) In other words, this app might tout to have a lot of drink recipes, but they are obviously not hand-picked nor even edited for presentation consistency! Eighth, some drinks dont even have names! In the "J" list, scroll down to "Jamaican Screw" and notice the empty drink between it and "Jogeir" and between "Jamacian (sp) 10 Speed" and "Jas". Again, just a couple glaring examples of the lack of effort by the developers to vet each recipe for consistency. Ninth, after clicking "Search" and then clicking "J Drinks" youd thinking that a search would ONLY search in the "J Drinks", right? WRONG! Even after selecting a letter, starting a search (for example, "Root") searches the entire drink list. Tenth, did I mention that the app crashes after looking at just a few drink recipes? With the sluggishness of the interface, it is a real pain. Hopefully its pretty obvious that this app is NOT ready for prime time... I bought "Pocket Cocktail" which has *pictures* of every drink along with the the free "5800+ Drink & Cocktail Recipes" and am much more impressed with both of those apps. Buyer beware! To the developers: if you address these issues, Ill be happy to update this review. (If you found this review helpful in making a purchasing decision, be sure to click "Yes")
As others have pointed out, jäger drinks are in the list, but the ingredient (jager) is missing. Alphabetical listing is, well not so much... They all start with the same letter in each lettered section but thats it, the drinks seemed to have been placed in a chance order more than alphabetical order. Multi ingredient search would be nice. Lose the keyboard after the search. This could be a killer "must have" app, but we shall have to wait for updates to be certain... And there are enough drinks so I expect function updates not content updates!!! I like the bar finder, that is kind of cool. The bac calculator is only as accurate as the bartender pouring the drinks, but its fun to play with.
This app is pretty cool. Tons and tons of drinks. It has a few bugs that need to be fixed! It needs a alphabit scroll on the side bad it takes forever to get to the next letter. When in certain drink receipts it will not let you scroll down and see the rest of what it says. After the bugs are all worked out it will be the best thing ever! But for only 0.99 its a greAt start!
Great app. Much better than the free ones. Couple things that do need improvement though: 1. An a-z slider on the right (like the contacts app) would be great. 2. There is some delays when clicking things on the main menu; ie search. I do realize that the app has a ton of data that it loads but something should really be done about this. I can look a drink up in mr bostons in about the same time I can on here. 3. Since Im a bartender speed is important. An option to set this app to the double tap home button would be awesome. All in all this is a great app. Id you throw parties at your house or bartend this app is great. It does crash occasionally but what app doesnt?
The damn thing keeps closing when Im looking at drinks, the keyboard stays up after you do a search, we need better scrolling ability going through the list of drinks. I realize that so many others have already said this but the more people that say it, hopefully they will listen when they make an update. Please fix these items.
So many drinks, easy to use, and simple. I am a college student and I love using this app!
Would give this app five stars but some ingredients are just blank, like goldschlager. Also, some drinks have just blanks listed as their ingredients so there is no way for you to tell what is actually in the drink.
